Charlotte, NC Cultural and Sports Events Close To Historic Bed and Breakfast

There are some exciting upcoming performances at the Bleumenthal Performing Arts Center.  The Charlotte Symphony performs on April 29-30, and on the 6th, 19th and 21st of May.  Gilbert & Sullivan's "H.M.S. Pinafore" is playing May 12th through 15th and the play CATS is on stage from May 24th through the 29th.  Looking ahead to July, Mamma Mia is scheduled for the 26th through 31st.

At the Charlotte Motor Speedway, May is always a highlight with the Memorial Day Race Weekend lineup.   This year it begins with Windstream Pole Night on the 26th, followed by the Circle K Outlaw Showdown on the 27th, then on the 28th it's the Top Gear 300 and the grand finale, the Coco Cola 600, is on the 29th.

The Billy Graham Library is a 40,000-square-foot experience that allows visitors to discover the life and legacy of America's Pastor.  Designed to reflect Billy Graham's journey from a humble farm boy to an international ambassador of God’s love, the barn-shaped building is situated on 20 landscaped acres, only miles from where Billy Graham grew up in Charlotte, N.C. It is open Monday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday.

TOTEM by Cirque du Soleil opens on March 03, 2011 under the Grand Chapiteau, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Silver Parking Lot. TOTEM traces the fascinating journey of the human species from its original state to its desire to fly. The characters evolve on a stage evoking a giant turtle, the symbol of origin for many ancient civilizations. Inspired by many founding myths, TOTEM illustrates, through a visual and acrobatic language, the evolutionary progress of species. Holiday Events Surround Charlotte NC Bed and Breakfast

Charlotte NC Bed and Breakfast N.S. Alexander Homestead is a perfect location for staying while enjoying the delights of the holiday season. Alexander House is a beautifully restored historic building offering romantic and private accommodations while still being convenient to North Carolina fun holiday events.

Just a few of the holiday events scheduled are:

Holiday Lights at the Garden - Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, at 6500 South New Hope Road in Belmont, NC, will display more than 500,000 lights all the way fro the Grand Entrance to the formal displays in the gardens. The show runs from November 27th to December 31st, 2010, Tuesday through Sunday from 5-9pm, except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas Town USA - the town of McAdenville draws visitors from all over between December 1-26th, 2010 with an incredible light display. Take a nice 25 mile drive to enjoy this 50 year tradition. Lights are on Monday -Friday 5:30-9:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 5:30-11pm. No charge, but donations accepted.

Founder's Hall Bearstein Bears - from December 1-31st, the Leonard Bearstein Symphony Orchestra, an 18 piece animatronic orchestra that is one of Charlotte's most beloved Christmas attractions will play at different times at Founder's Hall, 100 N.
